About

I am an amateur photographer. Although half of the apartment I grew up in was a photo studio, I only really got into photography in my mid-thirties. I have since gotten into photography with zeal. It helps that I have a graphic design background and am a complete nerd. I currently live with my lovely wife and four cats in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio.

Barn in Amish country, Ohio – 2016.

Although I have all sorts of cameras, including a couple of Canon DSLRs and a large collection of medium- and high-end lenses, my real passion is medium format film. I would love to shoot everything on large format, but I’m too lazy to cart around a view camera or take the time setting up and focusing a beast like that. I love travel, which makes a Linhof or a Sinar impractical, to say the least. I usually shoot with a Bronica ETRSi.

I develop my own black and white film, and intend to make the transition to home developing C41 soon. I scan most of my film myself using an Epson Perfection V800 Photo scanner or a Plustek film scanner.
